Quality M42 lens to Sony NEX / E-mount camera adapter with adjusting tool
Solid, all metal construction. Flanged type for compatibility with M42 lenses with ‘auto’ aperture pin.
The adapter is made of two separate metal rings, the inner ring can be rotated by loosening the retaining screws (with the Allen / HEX key provided).
This ensures that your lens is always the right way up when connected to the camera, giving you adequate access to the lens aperture and focus controls.
When attached to a NEX camera, M42 lenses cannot be controlled electronically from the camera and work in manual and aperture priority mode only, not auto-focus mode.
On most NEX cameras ‘shutter lock’ must be disabled in order to use manual lenses. This is because Sony cameras will try to communicate with a lens, find focus, etc before letting you shoot. The relevant settings are usually located under the camera’s custom settings and it’s called “Shutter Lock” or “Release w/o lens”
PLEASE NOTE: This adapter will not fit SONY α7 (R, S, ii) cameras and Sony A mount cameras. This adapter will not fit ASAHI TAKUMAR M42 lenses which incorporate a lever on the back of the mount.

Advice to use:
1.With some ring adapters,you have to Turn on ‘shoot without lens’ to use MF lenses with it
2.Some Lens can mount, but be careful with retractable lenses
3.Although the lens will fit physically, automatic diaphragm, auto-focusing, or any other functions will not operate correctly while using this adapter.In this case “stop-down mode” will need to be used when metering since the lens does not have the ability to have its aperture controlled by the camera body. You can shoot with manual mode or aperture priority mode
